Apologetics
Comparative Religions
Middle School/High School
This curriculum consists of 3 text books that provide a strong apologetics foundation students need to identify a false religion and powerfully refute their tenets. This eye-opening course focuses on the history and basic tenets of over 50 religions from around the world. All texts are Masterbooks. The pack can be found at https://www.masterbooks.com/comparative-religions-curriculum-pack for $57.48 ($71.98 is the normal price, but they typically have their products on sale), and parents will need to get all 3 books AND the teacher guide. The teacher guide contains all the assignments.
World Religions and Cults, Vol. 1 presents a clear and thorough analysis of “counterfeit” religions like Mormonism, Islam, Deism, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Zoroastrianism, and many more.
World Religions and Cults, Vol. 2 deals with many Eastern religions like Hinduism, Taoism, New Age, Sikhism, Confucianism, Shinto and Buddhism, as well as other pagan-based systems like Witchcraft, Voodoo, and Greek mythology (and many more)!
World Religions and Cults, Vol. 3 focuses on the atheistic or humanistic type of religions. It would be one of the most valuable for the church in the Western World where anti-god and pro-evolution religions are beginning to explode, for it was written to refute those religions and show how they fail. Unlike most books on world religions, this title dives into the secular humanistic religions. The book starts with God’s Word as the absolute authority. In doing so, God becomes our guide to refute false religions.
This curriculum is written towards 11-12 grades, but I’m willing to allow younger students, including middle school. Parents will have control over how in depth their child can manage. If a student wants a grade for this class, they should be prepared to do a fair amount of reading and essay writing as we will cover and discuss over 50 world religions.
